The best trip to Orange Beach, Alabama!

Who doesn’t love the beach?! Especially, the gulf… am I right or am I right!? This was a trip we took back in the summer of 2021. It was one of the best beaching trips we have had so far. We love frequenting the Gulf almost every year. It is just hard to beat with the calm, warm waters and lots of family-friendly things to do! Buckle up, busy bees… this one has lots of good food and places to eat as well as ocean views!

As always, Jess found us an amazing place to stay for our week in Orange Beach on VRBO. An adorable beach condo with ocean views and a perfect ocean viewing private balcony. The link for this particular VRBO rental is listed below:

One of our favorite things to do while we are on trips is….. EAT, and EAT WELL! 🙂

One of first stops was an area favorite. McGuire’s Irish Pub. We reserved the one in Pensacola, FL this time around… and it did not disappoint! The kids loved it as well! We have been a couple of times and their steak and homemade root beer is TOP TIER.

I got a tuna steak dinner this time and it did not disappoint!

I meaaannn…. look at that work of art! I just love fresh seafood! The wife and kids and I had a really nice time. The kids enjoyed the loud and busy atmosphere of McGuire’s and there was a love band there that night too! Of course, we had to leave a dollar bill with our names on it… we have been told McGuire’s has so much money hanging from its walls that they have to actually pay taxes on it! HAHAHAHA

We did a lot of beaching this time around. The water was perfect, sand was soft and warm, and the kids were totally Zen. I’m not sure what it is about the beach, whether it is the salt in the air or just the easy going-ness of the area… but our kids are always so chill when at the beach. And so are Jess and I. It’s pretty dang nice, if you ask me.

Can’t go to the beach without a good old fashioned Kentucky swamp water… Ale-8! Always a must to grab a couple of packs before we head down to the beach. The kids love it too!

Next stop for food… Tacky Jacks! This was a new place we tried on the bay. Looked pretty cool and interesting. You could eat right out on the water.

The food was pretty good. No complaints. Kind of standard run-of-the-mill seafood and kid-friendly fried foods. Jess got a shrimp po’ boy and hushpuppies that was particularly good. It was really nice having a sunset dinner on the water.

Of course, I have to share a couple of Gulf pics from our beach days. They never disappoint.

Next stop- lunch! We went out to lunch for this one. STKburger. It was in a busier area where there was a resort. Lots of people but some really cool shops around!

Of course, we all got burgers at this one. I must say, though, it was really dang good! Nothing like greasy cheeseburger on a hot, summer day!

LOOK AT THAT THING… just dripping with goodness! Mmmmmmmmm.

We also hit up FloraBama later in the day, too. I mean… there’s a dang Kenny Chesney song on this place, why wouldn’t we try it? Of course, we did the restaurant side as we had the kids with us. We will try the bar one of these days.

Couldn’t hardly sit in this place and not sing that dang song over and over again. “Sittin’ here at the FloraBama. ‘Bout to open up a big old can of good times, unwind, fall in and out of love in the same night.” That song replays a lot on my summer song playlist 🙂

Food was pretty dang good! I think we all enjoyed the appetizers the best. We got some oysters (because I freaking LOVE oysters) and some smoked tuna dip. One of our kids even loved the tuna dip and is obsessed with it now HAHA.

Our last night in Orange Beach is always the best but hardest. We usually go out for an evening sunset walk on the beach together. There are much less people and quiet and the kids can run and play. So here’s some remaining photos of this sunset walk.

Always love watching the kids run and be free. They always have the best time with us at the beach. I will never grow tired of seeing them run and play together, no matter how old they are.

Also, have to always add our annual sand writing to commemorate our trip. We do this just about every year. We love Orange Beach… and highly encourage anyone who wants to visit the Gulf to look into staying at Orange Beach. It is quieter and more laid back than Gulf Shores, and is always our preference… along with Destin, FL.

Stay kind and be sweet, my busy bees! Ciao!
